CARDONFILE Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

We aim for CARDONFILE to be used safely and responsibly, while maximizing your control over how you empower your Associated Agent. Use of the Services is subject to the following acceptable use policy ("AUP"):
Any capitalized terms not defined herein shall have the meanings ascribed to such terms in the CARDONFILE Terms of Use.
You agree to not, or to allow third parties to, use the Services to:
- violate, or encourage the violation of, the legal rights of others;
- engage in, promote, or encourage illegal activity, including child sexual exploitation, child abuse, or terrorism or violence that can cause death, serious harm, or injury to individuals or groups of individuals;
- receive or transfer funds on behalf of a third party, even if you are unaware of the funds' original source;
- conduct activities that violates the terms of service of any websites or payment platforms of any Merchant, Card Network or other third party, including any anti-bot and anti-circumvention measures imposed by Merchants;
- "scrape," "log," or "intercept" a full credit card primary account number or CVV. The Services will provide only a Virtual Card to an Associated Agent;
- test or reverse engineer the Services, including in order to find limitations or vulnerabilities, or to evade filtering capabilities, transaction limits or other limitations, except as expressly permitted by the Terms;
- work around any of the technical limitations of the Services or enable functionality that is disabled or prohibited, or access or attempt to access non-public Basis Theory systems, programs, data, or services;
- copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, resell, or distribute in any way, any part of the Services, documentation, or the Basis Theory platform, except as permitted by law.
In addition, the Services may not be used by any Associated Agent to initiate, facilitate, or complete transactions for the following goods or services:
- Age-Restricted & High-Risk Commodities:
- Firearms & Weapons: Any lethal or non-lethal weaponry, ammunition, or explosive materials.
- Controlled Substances: Alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, vaping products, and all pharmaceuticals (prescription or over-the-counter).
- Adult Content: Pornography, escort services, or any sexually explicit materials.
- Regulated Financial Instruments:
- Securities & Derivatives: The purchase of stocks, bonds, options, or any instrument regulated by the SEC, FCA, or equivalent bodies.
- Crypto-Assets: Any cryptocurrency digital assets or speculative tokens.
- Decentralized & Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Networks: Any auction sites, gig-economy, crowdfunding, or sponsorship platforms where the sellers are consumers or individuals, including sending funds to unhosted wallets or participating in P2P "money transmitter" services.
- Political contributions and lobbying: Any political contributions, PAC funding, lobbying services, or payments to government agencies or officials.
Unforeseen Harms. Basis Theory reserves the right to restrict or terminate any Associated Agent activity that, while not explicitly listed, is deemed by Basis Theory in its sole discretion to be manipulative, predatory, or harmful to the integrity of the Services, the financial system or the safety of the public.
Your failure to comply with the AUP may result in the suspension or termination, or both, of your access to the Services pursuant to the Terms.
